Patient/Client/Customer Appreciation Day Strategy

Client Appreciation DayHow many times per year do you throw a party for your patients, clients or customers? If you don’t celebrate “your people”, you’re missing an unbelievable opportunity to generate/stimulate a lot of referrals.

For example; if you’re a doctor, you can have a patient appreciation day. If you’re a financial advisor, attorney, insurance agent, etc., you can have a client appreciation day. And, if you’re a business owner you can have a customer appreciation day. There are so many different ways you can throw this party and it doesn’t have to cost you a lot of money.

If you’re a doctor, you can have a patient appreciation day that also doubles as a “Health Day” and invite some of the other doctors that you’re friends with (or have referral relationships with), so they too can offer their patient base an opportunity to come to your special health day. You’ll have a lot of people there and everyone wins! Or, you can just simply throw a patient appreciation day where you have food, drinks (non-alcoholic), music, clowns for the kids, information and free services, etc.

I used to have pet adoption people at my patient appreciation days with dogs people could adopt, vitamin representatives, water and air purification solutions and anything that had to do with health and wellness. Again, this is just for your patients AND their friends, family, co-workers and neighbors. You definitely want to encourage them to invite their friends and their family to participate in your day. (That’s where the referrals come in!)

If you’re an attorney, financial advisor, insurance agent, or anyone that has clients, the same opportunity exists for you to have a party for your clients and invite other professionals (that you work with) who can bring value or other services to help your clients. It’s all about showing your clients that you care.

How may other people or professionals are showing their patients/clients/customers that they care?

Do this! It’s a fantastic way to spread awesome word-of-mouth. You can invite the media – newspapers, radio and television stations – they may come and cover your event. They may even do a live remote from your event. Very few professionals are doing this and that makes it newsworthy.

There are press release and publicity opportunities here for you too. Again, don’t miss this opportunity to “make waves” in your target market, and give your patients, clients, or customers a reason to bring people to you!

  1. As an Insurance Agency we have been doing a customer appreciation pincic for many years just as a Thank You to our clients. I like the idea of having clients invite guests. I will be throwing that idea on the table this year. Last year was our agencies 25th anniversary, unfortunately our small town paper didn’t find it news worthy.

  2. It doesn’t matter if you’re a dentist performing a routine cleaning for a first time patient or a plastic surgeon performing a face lift, thank you cards are important. They are important because they show appreciation for your patients and they help to build a relationship.
